September 15, 1936 – November 4, 2014

As the sun was shining through the window and setting behind the clouds, Beth passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side. Beth battled Melanoma with strength and resilience, continuing to live her life with love and passion. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Barry of 55 years, her children Steven (Sheila), Scott (Shelley), Cheryl (Peter) MacNeil and Michael (Angie). Grandma to Russell, Cameron, Michael and Charlie Drumond; Brielle and Deacon Drummond; Megan, Cameron, and Erin MacNeil, and Myles Drummond. Sister to Dick (Joan) Andrews and Mary Smith, she will be missed by many extended family, friends, and the “infamous Bridge Group”. Beth was born in Tokyo, Japan and grew up on Sentinel Hill in West Vancouver. Beth met the love of her life while attending UBC School of Nursing. After their wedding, Beth and Barry lived throughout BC, building the province’s highways and living in one of their favourite places: Tete Jaune Cache near Mount Robson in the Rockies. She began raising their four young children out in the wilderness before settling on the North Shore. While keeping the children in line, she enjoyed golfing and playing bridge at Capilano Golf Club including being Women’s Captain and member of the hole-in-one club. To keep up with Barry, Beth had fun developing and building homes in Whistler and Secret Cove on the Sunshine Coast. She enjoyed travelling with Barry and friends to many parts of the world. She loved her gardens on Saltspring Island and more recently in Secret Cove. Once the children moved on to raise their own families, Beth enjoyed her many dogs and especially walking them at Ambleside Beach. Beth was a remarkable woman, always putting others first before herself.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Mike Knight and the team of nurses from North Shore Home and Community Care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 11:00 am at Capilano Golf and Country Club, 420 Southborough Drive, West Vancouver, B.C.
