Glenora (Glen) Erb (BSN ‘62)

Glenora Lea Erb was born in Calgary in 1937. With her identical twin sister Valerie (Valerie J. Erb), she attended the Nursing School of Calgary General Hospital. Glen was awarded a gold medal when she graduated with her RN diploma and was recognized as an outstanding bedside nurse.

Following two years traveling in Asia, Europe, India, Australia, and New Zealand, Glen returned to Vancouver. In 1962, both she and Valerie graduated from the UBC School of Nursing with a BSN degree. Glen then taught nursing at St. Paul’s Hospital School of Nursing, and later at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. At BCIT, she began what became a lifelong collaboration with Barbara Kozier (BSN ’55) coauthoring textbooks on Fundamentals of Nursing, Techniques of Clinical Nursing, Concepts and Issues in Nursing Practice, and Essentials of Nursing Practice. Glen died at the age of 64 of breast cancer on December 24, 2001.
